Privacy & data handling

This is a plain-language summary of how Veridress handles data while the product is in development. It is written to be readable, not to serve as a binding legal contract. Organizer account information through Clerk (such as name and email) when you create a workspace.

Event data that organizers enter: events, dress-code rules, attendee names, groups, and contact details.

Outfit photos that attendees upload through private, signed links so the dress code can be checked.

Photos are uploaded to private storage through short-lived signed links, not to a public location.

Image metadata is stripped during processing.

Photos are retained only for a retention window that the organizer controls, after which they are removed.

Veridress evaluates clothing against the rules an organizer has set. It is not built to score appearance, attractiveness, or bodies.

An uploaded photo is evaluated against the organizer's rules for that attendee's group, producing a structured decision with reasoning.

Decisions below the organizer's confidence threshold are routed to a human reviewer rather than being applied automatically.

AI decisions are assistive. A designated reviewer can override any outcome, and every decision keeps an audit trail.

Organizers and the reviewers they designate can see submissions for their own events.

Attendees see only their own upload screen and result; they do not see other guests.

We use third-party providers to run the service (for authentication, database, storage, email, SMS, payments, and AI evaluation). They process data only to provide those functions.

Organizers control retention windows and can remove event data.

Attendees who have questions about a submission should contact the organizer who sent their link.
